The Best in Acoustic Music - Up Close and Personal!

Point Richmond Acoustic is co-sponsored by Point Richmond Music, Folk Unlimited and The Point Richmond First Methodist Church. The Church is an intimate place for concerts, and music is an important part of its program. Built more than one 100 years ago, the hexagonal shaped sanctuary accentuates the up close and personal nature of the music.

Point Richmond Acoustic is located at the First Methodist Church of Point Richmond, 201 Martina Avenue. As you can see from the map below, Point Richmond is conveniently located to San Rafael and South Marin, as well as RIchmond, El Cerrito, Berkeley and Oakland. So mark your calendars and plan to spend some time with us!

Point Richmond Acoustic is produced by Bruce Kaplan and Claudia Russell, sponsored by Point Richmond Music and hosted by First Methodist Church. It is a not for profit endeavor - all proceeds (after minimal expenses) go to the artists.

Point Richmond Acoustic presents an evening of funky folky soul music!

Friday, April 11, 8 PM

Craig Carothers

with special guest Michael McNevin

Point Richmond Acoustic presents singer/songwriter Craig Carothers on Friday, April 11 at 8 pm. Carothers is an accomplished songwriter - his songs have been recorded by Trisha Yearwood, Kathy
Mattea, and Peter, Paul, and Mary, just to name just a few. The concert is held at the historic First Methodist Church of Point Richmond, 201 Martina Avenue. Tickets are $18 and $15 for seniors and students and are available at the door. Special guest Quiles and Cloud open the show.

Craig Carothers is from Portland, OR, and now makes his home in Nashville, TN. A prolific songwriter, Craig’s songs examine life with a mix of helpless romanticism and a just enough cynical humor to make it all believable. He's recorded and released ten albums in the last twenty years.

Craig also teaches a lyric writing class at the University of Miami, and has held songwriting workshops all over the U.S. and in Europe. Half of the year Craig’s on tour, and the other half he spends in Nashville writing, producing, designing album covers, and goofing off. Unfortunately, Craig admits, he is not the founder of Craig’s list.

The Point Richmond Acoustic concert series is sponsored by Point Richmond Music and the First Methodist Church. The Church itself is intimate and an acoustic marvel. The 100-year-old church is an octagonal wooden prism that appears to be built by nautical carpenters. It’s like listening to music inside a guitar. Our program is completely non-religious and people of all faiths or no faith are welcome. It’s a friendly no-pressure environment. It’s all about the music here!

Come see a fine evening of superior songwriting and inspired singing, up close and personal, at Point Richmond Acoustic, Friday April 11, at 8 pm.
